| Enchylaena | Lovely colours. The rainbow adds a wonderful touch. At least I know the sun was right behind you. |
| Leonrw | the way the boats stand out really help the image. |
| Gav Owen | Whoah that's a full rainbow all the way! |
| Soumen Nath | This is a wonderful picture. I am a learner, and I have a question to ask. Please allow me. 1) This picture is so sharp and there seems to be a huge depth of field. How did you achieve this with f/1.4 ? 2) Why did you choose such a wife aperture for this scene ? Looking at the shutter speed of 1/8000, why wouldnt you go for narrower aperture. I will be obliged if you kindly explain me these technical things which are still very unclear to me. Regards Soumen |
| tim_best_1972 | I like the vignette this lens produces wide open. It works particularly well with this photo as the vignette draws your attention to the rainbow. But 1/8000th?? Pushing the shutter there Luke! |
| Soumen Nath | Waiting for a reply...please oblige me. |
| Luke Tscharke | @Soumen 1) I think I got hyperfocal distance right here. I focused 2/3 to the back if the composition and everything came out sharp. 2) I was borrowing a very nice lens from a friend that could go down to f/1.4. I had aperture priority set to 1.4 and was playing with that. I forgot to change it for this shot, which also explains the ultra fast shutter speed. It was unintentional but turned out nice. |
